Our Yoga classes are taught by Jul McCormick, who is a certified and insured yoga instructor, trained in Hatha, Kundalini, Ashtanga, Raja, and Kriya traditions. |
The group yoga classes include a gentle Hatha style series of movements, which are adaptable to every level of student. The children will practice breathing techniques and basic poses/asanas. Classes promote flexibility, strength, coordination, and increased self-esteem. Practicing yoga provides each child with body awareness and a positive love for themselves, inside and out. Each class is also designed to cultivate a sense of self control, relaxation and well being. Jul's yoga classes provide a noncompetitive form of group exercise that promotes respect for self and others.
Jul teaches classes to students of all ages. Her classes include Mommy and Baby (3 weeks - 9 months), Mommy and Tots (10 months - 18 months), Mommy and Tykes (19 months - 24 months), Yoga for Children (3 - 12 years), Yoga for Teens (13-18), Adult Yoga for beginners and Slow Kundalini for beginners. She truly enjoys sharing her passion for yoga with others.
Jul has been working with children professionally for over 14 years in preschools, daycare centers, elementary schools and private homes. She is a family childcare provider in Middlesex County. Jul also volunteers her time as a Brownie Scout leader within the Girls Scouts of the USA organization. She is certified with The Red Cross in infant, child and adult CPR, as well as community first aid.
Jul is the proud mother of a 6-year-old daughter. She and her daughter have been practicing yoga with each other for many years. Jul truly believes in the numerous benefits of practicing yoga for everyone, including her own family.
